CIB appoints Hisham Ramez as vice chairman and managing director

Cairo, Egypt - February 29, 2016, Cairo, Egypt - Commercial International Bank (Egypt) (CIB) announced the appointment of Hisham Ramez Abdel Hafez as vice chairman and managing director.

Mr. Ramez has more than 30 years of experience. He served as the Managing Director of Commercial International Bank (Egypt) S.A.E. since December 2011 and as the Chairman of the Board and Governor of Central Bank of Egypt until November 26, 2015. He served as Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Egypt and also as Senior Advisor to the Governor of Central Bank of Egypt.

Mr. Ramez served in several departments of the Central Bank of Egypt, including the department for internal banking controls, where he worked from 1977 to 2001, when he was promoted to Assistant Governor.

Mr. Ramez has been a Governor at Arab Monetary Fund since February 2013. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the General Organization for Money Market, the General Organization for Investment, General Organization for Social Contribution and the Electricity Holding Company.
