Cigna appoints Greg Allen as president of Tennessee market

Prior to this new role, Mr. Allen served in several leadership positions at Cigna-HealthSpring, joining HealthSpring when it was first formed in 2000 and continuing in a leadership position after Cigna's acquisition of HealthSpring.
Most recently, he served as the leader of the Alabama and Tennessee markets and previously as HealthSpring president of the Tennessee market, one of the company’s largest Medicare Advantage markets.
In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of the market’s operations as well as financial performance and business development.
Before joining Cigna-HealthSpring, he was director of finance for HealthSpring’s predecessor company, North American Medical Management, a physician management company.
During his career, he also held financial analysis roles with Prudential Health Care and Aetna U.S. HealthCare.
Mr. Allen is a graduate of the Nashville HealthCare Council Fellows program under the direction of Senator Bill Frist and Vanderbilt University’s Larry Van Horn. ■
