Providence, R.I., USA - October 31, 2012, Providence, R.I., USA - Clorox, a manufacturer of consumer and professional products, announced that its chief operating officer Lawrence S. Peiros has announced his retirement from the company, effective April 1, 2013.

Mr. Peiros was named executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company in March last year. He is a member of the company’s executive committee and oversees Clorox’s Eco Office, which is responsible for implementing the company’s global environmental sustainability strategy.
He was named executive vice president and chief operating officer – Clorox North America in January 2007. Two years later his responsibilities expanded to include Marketing, Sales, Research & Development and Product Supply.
Following a 1980 internship, Mr. Peiros joined The Clorox Company in 1981 as a brand assistant in Household Products Marketing. During the years that followed, he held Marketing positions of increasing responsibility.
He was named vice president – Corporate Marketing Services in 1993, vice president – Food Products in 1995, vice president Armor All Products and Cleaning Products in 1997 and vice president – Household Products in 1998.
In 1999, Mr. Peiros was named group vice president with responsibility for the company’s U.S. Laundry and Home Care, Auto Care, Brita water-filtration products and Professional Products businesses, as well as Clorox Canada.
He is a member of the board of directors of Potlatch Corporation, a timberland real estate investment trust.
He earned a bachelor's degree in English at Dartmouth College and a master's degree in business administration at Stanford University.
The company also announced that, effective January 1, 2013, it will move to a structure with two chief operating officers.
Benno Dorer, currently senior vice president - Cleaning division & Canada, will be promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer - Cleaning, International and Corporate Strategy.
George Roeth currently senior vice president - Specialty division, will be promoted to executive vice president & chief operating officer - Household and Lifestyle. ■
