Cmed Group: David A. Weiss new president and CEO

Horsham, United Kingdom - September 21, 2010, Horsham, United Kingdom - Cmed Group, a clinical research company, announced that David A. Weiss has been named president and CEO, effective October 1.

Mr. Weiss, who served as Chairman of CHF’s Board of Trustees from 2008-2010, comes to this new position from the global law firm DLA Piper in Washington D.C., where he has served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Government Affairs Group.

Prior to DLA Piper, Mr. Weiss served in various capacities at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), most notably as an Assistant U.S. Trade Representative and trade negotiator, working extensively with governments and industries in Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia on a wide variety of trade and foreign policy matters.

Mr. Weiss was a U.S. Foreign Service Officer for 10 years prior to USTR, working as Staff Assistant to the Secretary of State, Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of State and as an Economic Officer in Haiti. Weiss has lived in six countries: the former Yugoslavia, India, Germany, Switzerland, Bangladesh and Haiti.
