Mr. Pontarelli is a Managing Director in the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and has been a Director of Cobalt since our inception in November 2005. Mr. Pontarelli joined Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1992 and has been its Vice President since 2000. Mr. Pontarelli serves as Managing Director and Head of Natural Resources at GS Capital Partners 2000, L.P., GS Capital Partners V, L.P. and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners VI, L.P.
He served as Manager of Kinder Morgan, Inc. since May 2007. He has been a Director of Expro International Group Holdings Limited since December 18, 2009. He has been a Director of Energy Future Holdings Corporation since October 2007. He has been a Director of KMI at Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP since May 2007. He has been a Director of Energy Future Intermediate Holding Company LLC since 2007.
Mr. Pontarelli served as Director of CVR GP LLC-Managing General Partner of CVR Partners, LP since October 2007. He served as Director of Kinder Morgan Management LLC. He served as Director of Kinder Morgan Kansas, Inc. since May 30, 2007. He served as Manager of TXU Energy Retail Company, LP. He served as a Director of Kinder Morgan, Inc., since February 2011.
He served as Director at Carmike Cinemas Inc. from April 2002 to November 9, 2005. He served as Director of CVR Energy, Inc. from September 2006 to May 19, 2010. He served as Member of Partnership Committee at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
He received a B.S. and B.A. from Syracuse University. He also holds M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Coneway is a Managing Director of Riverstone LLC and has been a Director of Cobalt since October 2009. Mr. Coneway joined the Riverstone Holdings on March 16, 2009 and is focused on sourcing, structuring, and executing energy investments.
Previously, Mr. Coneway spent 37 years in various capacities at Goldman, Sachs & Co. He joined the Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1969 and was a Managing Director, named as General Partner in 1978, and the Head of Houston office in 1975. He serves as an Advisory Director of TPH Asset Management, LLC. He serves as a Member of Advisory Council at Red McCombs School of Business. Mr. Coneway was the Chairman of the Stanford Business School Trust, Director of the Greater Houston Partnership, served on the Governor’s Business Council in Texas, and served on the National Board of the Smithsonian Institution.
He was an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein from 2006 to 2008. Mr. Coneway received the Outstanding Young Texas Ex Award in 1983, was appointed to the UT System Board of Regents in 1993, and was named a Distinguished Alumnus in October 2003 and inducted into the McCombs School Hall of Fame in 2004. ■
