Datapath announces senior leadership expansion

Atlanta, Ga., USA - December 23, 2015, Atlanta, Ga., USA - DataPath, Inc., a provider of networking hardware, fiber optic and copper cableplant products, announced that it has appointed two experienced executives to key positions.




Carsten Drachmann has been named Vice President and General Manager for DataPath’s Portable Satellite Terminals business unit based in Sweden.

Mr. Drachmann has a long track record of success in commercial markets and extensive international business experience. Over the past 25 years, he has delivered large-scale revenue, profit and market share growth for companies in the telecommunications and entertainment industries.

Prior DataPath, Mr. Drachmann served in a number of senior leadership positions with telecommunications giant Nokia, in a range of roles from product development, to sales and marketing, to running regional operations.

George Tong will serve as DataPath’s Vice President of Global Engineering and Technology.

A 30-year veteran of the satellite industry, Dr. Tong has been instrumental in the development of a comprehensive range of antennas for Fixed Satellite Services (FSS), as well as Communications-On-The-Pause (COTP) and Communications-On-The-Move (COTM) terminals for the Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) market.

Particularly notable is his leadership in the design of an innovative low profile, high-gain semi-phased array antenna for COTM application.
