Mr. Roney has broad experience handling high-profile international arbitration matters involving parties from throughout the world. Mr. Roney has acted as counsel before international arbitral tribunals in a broad range of commercial disputes involving share purchase and asset purchase agreements, international joint venture agreements, construction and manufacturing contracts and distribution, licensing and sponsorship arrangements.
These disputes involved parties from around the world, many different applicable laws, places of arbitration ranging from London to Vienna to the Philippines as well as many of the major international arbitral institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration, the Dubai International Arbitration Centre and the Swiss Chambers of Commerce (Swiss Rules).
In addition, Mr. Roney has served on a number of occasions as chairman, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator under the ICC Rules, the Swiss Rules and in ad hoc arbitration.
Mr. Roney is a Co-Founder and Executive Committee Member of the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy, a Co-Chair of the ICC Commission on Arbitration Task Force on “National Rules of Procedure for Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards pursuant to the New York Convention of 1958†and a Member of the Executive of the ICC National Committee for Canada. ■
