Troy, Mich., USA - November 4, 2009, Troy, Mich., USA - Delphi Automotive LLP, a global supplier of electronics and technologies for autos, announced the appointment of a new board which will be chaired by John A. Krol, former chairman of DuPont and lead director for Tyco International Ltd.

Mr. Krol also is a board member at ACE, Ltd., and serves on the advisory board of the Bechtel Corporation. Mr. Krol is a former trustee of the University of Delaware and trustee emeritus of Tufts University. Mr. Krol also is a former board member of J.P. Morgan Chase, The Business Roundtable, The Business Council, MeadWestvaco Corp., Milliken & Co., and the Hagley Museum, as well as Chairman of the United Way of Delaware. Mr. Krol received a B.S. and M.S. in chemistry from Tufts University.
The other members of the board are Gary L. Cowger, ajiv L. Gupta, J. Randall MacDonald, Sean O. Mahoney, Michael McNamara and Lawrence A. Zimmerman.
Gary L. Cowger most recently served as group vice president of global manufacturing and labor relations for General Motors. He will retire from GM on Dec. 1, 2009. Cowger began his career with GM in 1965 and held a range of senior leadership positions in business and operations in several countries. In 2006, he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Martin Luther King Memorial Foundation's executive Leadership Cabinet. Mr. Cowger is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kettering University, a board member of the UNCF and the governing board of Leaders for Manufacturing at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.). Mr. Cowger earned a B.S. in industrial engineering from Kettering University and a master's degree as a Sloan Fellow from M.I.T.
Rajiv L. Gupta is former chairman and chief executive officer of Rohm and Haas Company, a worldwide producer of specialty materials. Gupta began his career at Rohm & Haas in 1971 and served in a broad range of global operations and financial leadership roles. He currently serves as a director at Hewlett-Packard, Tyco International Ltd., and The Vanguard Group, Inc. Mr. Gupta received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, and an MBA in Finance from Drexel University.
J. Randall MacDonald is senior vice president, human resources at IBM. From 1983 to 2000, prior to joining IBM, MacDonald held a variety of senior positions at GTE, including executive vice president, human resources and administration. He also has held senior leadership assignments at Ingersoll-Rand Company, Inc., and Sterling Drug. Mr. MacDonald is a former board member of Covance, Inc., a global drug services company. He earned both bachelors and master's degrees from St. Francis University.
Sean O. Mahoney, is a private investor with over two decades of experience in investment banking and finance. Mahoney spent 17 years in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was a partner and head of the Financial Sponsors Group, and four years at Deutsche Bank Securities, where he served as vice chairman, global banking. During his banking career Mr. Mahoney acted as an advisor to companies across a broad range of industries and product areas, particularly equity, debt and M&A. Mr. Mahoney earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and his graduate degree from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
Michael McNamara is chief executive officer of Flextronics International Ltd., a leading electronics manufacturing services provider. McNamara has served as Flextronics's CEO since 2006, and previously was the company's chief operating officer. Prior to joining Flextronics, Mr. McNamara was president and CEO of Relevant Industries, which was acquired by Flextronics in 1994. Mr. McNamara serves on the board of MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. McNamara holds a B.S. degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Santa Clara University. ■
