Stuttgart, Germany - February 22, 2013, Stuttgart, Germany - The Supervisory Board of Daimler AG passed a resolution to extend the contract of service of Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the board of management of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, until December 31, 2016.

Mr. Zetsche has been a member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG since December 16, 1998, and Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG since January 1, 2006. He is also Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars Division which includes passenger cars of the brands Mercedes-Benz, Maybach and smart as well as Mercedes-Benz AMG and Mercedes-Benz McLaren.
After attending school in Frankfurt and obtaining the Abitur (university entrance examination), Mr. Zetsche studied electrical engineering from 1971 to 1976 at the University of Karlsruhe and graduated as an engineer. He joined the research department of the then Daimler-Benz AG in 1976 and became assistant to the Development Manager in the Commercial Vehicles business unit in 1981.
Mr. Zetsche completed a doctorate in engineering in 1982 at the University of Paderborn. From 1984, as part of the Daimler-Benz Commercial Vehicles Management Development Team, he was responsible for the coordination of international development activities.
The contract of service of Thomas Weber, Board of Management Member for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development, was also extended until December 31, 2016. He has been a member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG since January 1, 2004 and is responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development.
The company also announced that as of April 1, 2013, Andreas Renschler will assume Board of Management responsibility for production and purchasing of Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars & Mercedes-Benz Vans.
Mr. Renschler has been a member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG since October 1, 2004 and is Head of Daimler Trucks Division. After obtaining the Fachhochschulreife (Technical College entrance examination), he studied Economic Engineering and graduated from Technical College Esslingen (1979 to 1983). From 1984 to 1987, he studied at Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen where he obtained an MBA. In 1988 he joined the then Daimler-Benz AG at Organization and Data Processing department.
The company also announced that Wolfgang Bernhard will assume Board of Management responsibility for Daimler Trucks.
Mr. Bernhard has been a member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG since February 18, 2010. In this function, he is responsible for Manufacturing and Procurement Mercedes-Benz and the business unit Mercedes-Benz Vans. In 1980 he started his studies at the Technical University of Darmstadt and finished with a master degree in Electrical Engineering and Economics in 1986. ■
