Wilmington, De., USA - October 6, 2015, Wilmington, De., USA - DuPont announced that its chair and CEO Ellen Kullman will retire from the company from October 16, 2015.

Ms. Kullman has been chair of the board of directors and chief executive officer of DuPont since 2009. She was named CEO on January 1 and board chair on December 31, 2009.
Prior to being appointed chair of the board and chief executive officer, Ms. Kullman served as president, executive vice president and a member of the company’s office of the chief executive. She has focus on growth in emerging international markets, led Safety & Protection business portfolio, started-up DuPont Industrial Biosciences and DuPont Sustainable Solutionsm and run several industrial businesses.
Ms. Kullman began her career at DuPont in 1988 as a marketing manager for the DuPont medical imaging business. Prior to joining DuPont, he worked for Westinghouse and General Electric.
Ms. Kullman is a board director of United Technologies Corp. She is chair of the U.S. China Business Council and member of the U.S. India CEO Forum. She is executive committee member of the Business Council and board member of Catalyst, Inc. She is a board member of Change the Equation (CTEq) and on the board of trustees of Tufts University and the board of overseers for Tufts School of Engineering.
Ms. Kullman holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Tufts University and a Master of Science in Management from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
In 2011 Ms. Kullman received an honorary Doctor of Engineering from Lehigh University followed by Doctors in Science from the University of Edinburgh and the University of Delaware.
Edward Breen, a current member of the DuPont Board of Directors, will assume the role of Interim Chair and CEO.
A director since February 2015, Mr. Breen is chairman of the board of directors of Tyco International pl. He served as chairman and CEO of Tyco from July 2002 until September 2012. ■
