Dubai, United Arab Emirates - June 27, 2013, Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Emirates Airline announced new appointments to senior management roles and promotion of Adel Al Redha to executive vice president and chief operations officer.

Mr. Al Redha will be responsible for Engineering, Flight Operations, Service Delivery and Airport Services.
In his earlier role as Emirates' Executive Vice President Engineering and Operations, he was responsible for the management of key operational departments including Flight Operations, Engineering and Aircraft Procurement. Prior to this, he has held the titles of Director of Engineering and Head of Engineering.
Mr. Al Redha expanded Emirates Engineering's capabilities and functions to include all aircraft checks and engine module repairs leading to significant reduction in maintenance costs and inventory levels of spare engines.
Mr. Al Redha successfully introduced and implemented the Engineering Training Programme for UAE Nationals. He initiated the use of IT in aircraft maintenance and the introduction of live aircraft monitoring.
Mr. Al Redha was appointed head of Emirates Group's Procurement & Logistics department in 1999, where he led the A380's engine evaluation, negotiations and selection team that achieved substantial savings for the organisation.
In 1991 Mr. Al Redha was assigned to Toulouse, to co-ordinate implementation of the IFE programme, as well as the completion and delivery of Airbus aircraft from the production line to Emirates.
Mr. Al Redha joined Emirates in 1988 as an engineer, after having started his career in 1986 as a Trainee Aircraft Engineer with another carrier in the region. At Emirates, he was involved in the evaluation and selection of the first inflight entertainment system and in the evaluation of aircraft, engines and equipment.
Mr. Al Redha who holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology/Aircraft Maintenance from the University of Northrop, USA and a Masters Degree in Air Transport from Cranfield University, UK.
The company also announced that Thierry Antinori has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer responsible for Commercial Operations, Revenue Optimisation, Skywards, Destination and Leisure Management and Emirates SkyCargo.
Mr. Antinori joined Emirates in October 2011 as Executive Vice President for Passenger Sales Worldwide. He was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Airline, in June 2013.
Mr. Antinori's career spans more than 25 years in the aviation industry, including senior commercial positions at both Lufthansa and Air France. He began his career with Air France, responsible for regional sales and route management across Europe before becoming Executive Assistant to the President and then Director Air France for Germany.
In 1997, Mr. Antinori joined Lufthansa as Vice President Sales & Services for Western and Southern Europe before being appointed Executive Vice President Sales and then Executive Vice President Marketing & Sales, as well as becoming a member of the airline's executive board, managing worldwide sales, marketing and product management.
Mr. Antinori holds a business management diploma from the French business school ESSEC in Paris. He was declared the Chief Marketing Officer of the Year (CMO) in 2009 by Booz & Company.
In addition, Nabil Sultan, who has held numerous commercial roles in his 20 years with Emirates, has been appointed Divisional Senior Vice President (DSVP), Emirates SkyCargo. He previously served as DSVP for Revenue Optimisation and Distribution.
The company also announced that Richard Jewsbury assumes the role of DSVP Revenue Optimisation and Distribution after serving as Senior Vice President (SVP) Commercial, Europe & Russian Federation.
Adnan Kazim will takea the role of DSVP, Planning, Aeropolitical and Industry Affairs a move from his role as DSVP Planning & Research.
Salem Obaidalla, formerly SVP Australasia assumes the role of SVP Aeropolitical and Industry Affairs. ■
