Entech Solar announces change in executive leadership

Fort Worth, Tx., USA - February 9, 2010, Fort Worth, Tx., USA - Entech Solar announced that David Gelbaum will become chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Mr. Gelbaum will replace Dr. Frank W. Smith, who has served as the Company’s CEO since March of 2008. Dr. Smith will continue to serve the Company in an advisory capacity during Mr. Gelbaum’s transition into his new role, and will retain his seat on the Company’s Board.[break]

Since 2002, Mr. Gelbaum has been a private investor. From 1989 until 2002, he performed quantitative modeling for stock price returns and derivative securities for TGS Management, and from 1972 until 1989 he worked at Oakley & Sutton in a similar capacity. Mr. Gelbaum is a trustee of The Quercus Trust.

Dr. Frank Smith served as CEO for Entech Solar from 2008 until February 2010. He formerly served as COO of WorldWater & Solar Technologies. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Smith served as VP of Strategy and Business Development at EMCORE Corporation. Prior to this, Dr. Smith worked at JDS Uniphase, Lockheed Martin, and MIT’s Lincoln Labs where he accumulated five patents under his name.
