Long Beach, Ca., USA - December 10, 2014, Long Beach, Ca., USA - UTi Worldwide Inc., a third-party logistics provider, announced that Eric W. Kirchner has resigned as chief executive officer and as a member of the board of directors of the company.

Mr. Kirchner served as the Chief Executive Officer of UTi Worldwide, Inc. from January 19, 2009 to December 8, 2014. Mr. Kirchner served as President of Freight Forwarding at United Parcel Service, Inc. since March 2008. He has more than 27 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry.
His background includes roles in operations, sales and marketing and general management. During his career, he has directed transportation and commercial air and ocean carrier relationships and has also managed contract logistics operations.
He has extensive experience in managing global customer relationships and overseeing acquisition integration and business process transformation. Mr. Kirchner directs transportation and commercial air and ocean carrier relationships as well as trade lane development and international freight sales to mid-sized businesses.
He joined UPS Supply Chain Solutions in 2004 when UPS acquired Menlo Worldwide Forwarding, Inc., where he served as Chief Operating Officer and held positions in sales, field operations and aircraft scheduling. During his UPS tenure, he directed North American freight forwarding and the alignment of partner carriers with new heavy freight regional air hubs and international gateways.
Prior to his career at UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Mr. Kirchner served in roles of increasing responsibility at Emery Worldwide, division of Con-Way, Inc.
He began his career at Consolidated Freightways Corporation, where he had several fast-track assignments in its rapidly growing airfreight forwarding business. He led a project to create a unified Enterprise Transportation Group for planning and procurement across all business units.
Mr. Kirchner serves as Trustee of The International Air Cargo Association. He served as a Director of UTI Worldwide, Inc. from 2009 to December 8, 2014. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the Indiana University and pursued the Stanford Executive Program from the Stanford University.
The Board has appointed Edward G. Feitzinger as CEO of the Company and elected him as a member of the board as a Class B director.
Mr. Feitzinger has been with the Company since 2010. Feitzinger was appointed Chief Executive Officer in December 2014. He had served as Executive Vice President – Global Operations since October 2012. Previously he was Executive Vice President – Global Contract Logistics and Distribution since September 2010, after serving UTi in a consulting capacity since April 2009. He has held leadership roles as both a customer and provider of global supply chain solutions.
Prior to joining UTi he served as Senior Vice President of Golden Gate Logistics, a third-party logistics provider of freight forwarding and contract logistics services, and before that as Vice President of Worldwide Logistics for Hewlett-Packard, where he managed more than $1 billion in transportation and logistics spend.
Prior to Hewlett-Packard, he was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Menlo Worldwide, where he also led the technology and engineering division. ■
