Vatican City - Ettore Gotti Tedeschi, the president of the Vatican bank, has resigned from the post after the board of directors unanimously passed a no-confidence vote against his leadership.

Mr. Tedeschi has been the Chairman of Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture SGR SpA since May 2009.
He served as an Advisor to the President at Banco Santander Group since 1993.
He served as a Senior Country Manager and Managing Director of Merchant Banking at San Paolo di Torino.
Mr. Tedeschi served as the Head of Merchant Banking at IMI from 1985 to 1987.
He served at in Imi-Bnl group from 1984 to 1985. He was a Senior Partner of Akros Finanziaria.
Mr. Tedeschi co-founded Akros Finanziaria in 1987 and served there until 1992.
He served with McKinsey & Co. in management consulting from 1980 to 1984.
Mr. Tedeschi entered the financial sector in 1984, taking responsibility for Merchant Banking within IMI (Istituto Mobiliare Italiano).
