Edinburgh, United Kingdom - August 31, 2015, Edinburgh, United Kingdom - Exova, a providers of testing, calibration and advisory services, announced that Fred Kindle is planning to stand down as non-executive chairman from January 1, 2016.

Mr. Kindle will continue as a Non-Executive Director on the Exova board. He became Non-Executive Chairman of Exova in 2008, having joined CD&R as a partner in 2008. He is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of ABB Limited, a leading supplier of electrical and automation equipment, services and systems.
Prior to joining ABB, Mr. Kindle served from 1999 to 2004 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sulzer Ltd, a global industrial engineering and management company.
Previously he worked for McKinsey and Company in New York and Zurich. He is Chairman of BCA Osprey Ltd, Senior Independent Director and from April 4, 2014, Chairman of VZ Holding AG and a member of the boards of Zurich Insurance Company Ltd and Stadler Rail Ltd.
Mr. Kindle graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich with a masters degree in engineering. He also holds a MBA from Northwestern University.
Allister Langlands, currently Exova's Senior Independent Director, will replace Mr. Kindle as Non-Executive Chairman.
Mr. Langlands became Senior Independent Director of Exova following the company's IPO. He has been chairman of John Wood Group PLC since November 2012, and was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Wood Group from 2007 and Deputy Chief Executive Officer from 1999.
Mr. Langlands served as Group Finance Director of Wood Group from 1991 to 2000. Prior to joining Wood Group, he was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand Deloitte (now PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP).
Mr. Langlands is also a non-executive director of Maven Income & Growth VCT 5 PLC, WS Atkins plc and a number of private companies. He has an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.
Anne Thorburn, who has been Chief Financial Officer since 2009, has indicated her intention to retire during 2016,
Ms. Thorburn joined Exova as Chief Financial Officer in August 2009. She has many years of experience at PLC board level in international groups, having served as Group Finance Director at British Polythene Industries PLC. Before that she held the same position at Clyde Blowers PLC. ■
