Grapevine, Tx., USA - January 23, 2014, Grapevine, Tx., USA - GreenHunter Resources, a provider of oilfield water management solution, has accepted the resignation of Jonathan D. Hoopes as a member of the board and as interim chief executive officer.

Mr. Hoopes is a fifteen-year Wall Street veteran who spent most of his professional career in the financial services industry with a focus on traditional energy, renewable energy and technology. He has served in various capital markets, investment banking, and equity research roles at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and UBS in London, Hong Kong and New York.
Mr. Hoopes also provided cross-border strategic consulting and M&A advisory services to corporate clients and private equity investors with energy technology and services interests in China.
He holds an MBA in International Finance from the Wharton School and an MA in East Asian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
The company also announced that it has appointed Gary C. Evans, the Company's existing Chairman, as the Interim Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Evans is the chairman and founder and Interim Chief Executive Officer of GreenHunter Energy. He has served as the Company's chairman and President, and he is also the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Magnum Hunter Resources Corporation. He founded and served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Magnum Hunter Resources for twenty years before selling MHRI to Cimarex Energy.
Mr. Evans serves as an Individual Trustee of TEL Offshore Trust and is the lead director of Novavax. He was recognized by Ernst and Young as the Southwest Area 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year for the Energy Sector and was subsequently inducted into the World Hall of Fame for Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs.
The company also announced that it has appointed Kirk J. Trosclair, an existing Executive Vice President, as the Company's new Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Trosclair presently serves as Executive Vice President for GreenHunter Resources, while also serving as Senior Vice President of Alpha Hunter Drilling, LLC., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Magnum Hunter Resources Corporation. His background includes drilling and exploration, engineering design, oilfield fluid terminal operations, logistics management, construction, and business development.
Prior to serving the Company as Executive Vice President, Mr. Trosclair served as Director of Terminal Operations for GreenHunter Resources, Inc. he was previously employed as Marine Terminal Project Manager at InterMoor, Inc. located in Fourchon, Louisiana for over two years.
Previously, Mr. Trosclair worked for over four years at ExxonMobil U.S. Production as Marine Logistics Planning and Scheduling Coordinator. He received his B.A. and A.S. in Petroleum Engineering Technology from Nicholls State University.
The company also announced that Larry Covert has been hired and has been appointed as the new Vice President of Investor Relations.
Mr. Covert is an energy focused investment professional with 17 years of finance and investing acumen within growth stage companies. His prior experience was as a Senior Analyst in mergers & acquisitions at Wachovia, a Research Analyst with venture capital firm MILCOM, the Vice President of Texas for CNL Investment Co, Managing Director of mineral rights and royalty acquisition firm GreenBlack Energy, and as Managing Director of a private equity unit of defense firm Fulcra Worldwide.
Mr. Covert is a member of the Advisory Council of the Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Texas Medical School, is a supporter of the Aspen Institute: Energy and Environment Program, and is a frequent speaker regarding energy investing at numerous industry conferences. ■
