Gretchen Teichgraeber new CEO of Leadership Directories

New York, USA - November 20, 2009, New York, USA - Leadership Directories, a provider of contact solutions for professionals, announced the appointment of Gretchen G. Teichgraeber to the position of chief executive officer.

From 2000 to 2007, Ms. Teichgraeber served as President and CEO of Scientific American, Inc., publisher of the premier science and technology magazine Scientific American. As leader of this global media company, Teichgraeber significantly improved its financial performance by introducing two new publications - Scientific American Mind and Scientific American Reports, building the magazine's digital platform, and expanding its international network. Since then, as co-founder of White Oak Partners, Ms. Teichgraeber has worked as an independent marketing and strategy consultant to media and business services companies. Ms. Teichgraeber serves as a member of the board of directors of Forrester Research, Inc. and The New York Hall of Science.

Ms. Teichgraeber began her career at Time Inc., where she held numerous positions in consumer marketing, business development and general management, and helped launch Sports Illustrated for Kids magazine. She also worked at The New York Times Company as Director of Marketing, Planning and Product Management and Director of Corporate Strategic Planning. In 1997, Ms. Teichgraeber joined CMP Media Inc., a leading provider of technology news and information, and as Vice President of Marketing and Information Services, she established a business unit that developed and marketed numerous highly-profitable database products and services.
