San Francisco, Ca., USA - ECOtality, Inc., a clean electric transportation and storage technologies company, announced that H. Ravi Brar will succeed Jonathan Read as the new president and chief executive officer of the company, effective September 12, 2012.

Mr. Brar joined ECOtality in November 2010 as chief financial officer.
Previously, he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Exigen Services, Inc., a pre-IPO global software development outsourcing company based in Russia and China.
Prior to that, Mr. Brar was chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Pac-West Telecom and worked for Xerox in international business development and domestic finance, sales and operational roles for nearly a decade.
In addition to ascending to CEO, Mr. Brar has also been named to ECOtality’s board.
Mr. Brar holds a BS in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis and a MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Read had served as ECOtality’s president and CEO since its founding in 2005.
Mr. Read previously founded the Park Plaza International hotel chain and prior to that was chairman and CEO of Shakey’s Worldwide.
Mr. Brar and the company’s board have named Susie Herrmann acting CFO.
Ms. Herrmann is a Certified Public Accountant, with more than 20 years of diverse financial leadership experience with both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to joining ECOtality, Ms. Herrmann served as Director of Accounting Services for Belae Brands and Financial Controller for Innovative Brands, two start-up consumer product companies in Phoenix, Arizona.
Ms. Herrmann also served as Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for Cytec Engineered Materials, a multinational manufacturer of advanced aerospace products.
Previously Ms. Herrmann provided financial management and accounting services in various capacities for The Dial Corporation, and Dover Electronics. ■
