London, United Kingdom - December 10, 2012, London, United Kingdom - Hambledon Mining, a gold mining and development company, announces a number of changes to the board of the company.

George Eccles and Sabine Anderson, non-executive Chairman and non-executive director respectively, have resigned from the board.
Mr. Eccles became a Partner in the London office of Deloitte Haskins & Sells before moving to Moscow where he was a Partner in Coopers & Lybrand and later in Deloitte & Touche. More recently, he has worked in Kazakhstan as Chief Operating Officer of the Central Asian-American Enterprise Fund, a US government sponsored development fund. He is a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. He graduated with a law degree from the London School of Economics and then trained as a Chartered Accountant.
Ms. Anderson joined the board in July 2012 as representative of EBRD and sits on the Technical and Health & Safety Committees. She is the founder and a director of Severin Mining and Development Ltd. which focuses on early stage mineral assets in East Africa - primarily in Uganda and Ethiopia.
Prior to that Ms. Anderson spent seven years as Principal Consultant at SRK (Consulting) Ltd. during which time she worked on many gold, base metals and industrial minerals assets in Africa and South America. In addition to these she has also worked on mining projects with Tantalite and Coal. Ms. Anderson has a Masters in Engineering (Mining) from Royal School of Mines and is a Chartered Engineer.
The Company also announced the appointment of Ashar Qureshi as a non-executive director.
Mr. Qureshi is a U.S. qualified lawyer who was previously a partner with international law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he was based first in the New York office and later in the London office where he helped establish the firm’s emerging markets presence.
More recently, Mr. Qureshi was the Vice Chairman of Renaissance Group where he had a senior investment banking role and is currently Executive Vice Chairman of Luminaire Films, a director of Hanson Asset Management Limited and a partner of Naya Capital Management LLP. Mr. Qureshi was educated at Harvard Law School and Harvard College and holds a Juris Doctor. ■
