Hearst Corporation names Mitchell Scherzer chief financial officer

New York, USA - November 13, 2009, New York, USA - Hearst Corporation, a diversified media company, announced that Mitchell Scherzer has been named vice president and chief financial officer, effective November 16.

Mr. Scherzer is a veteran investment banker who has concentrated most of his 20-plus-year career in banking in the communications, media and entertainment industries. After graduating from The Wharton School in 1989, Mr. Scherzer joined Goldman Sachs and remained there until 2002, ultimately serving as co-head of its media group. He gained more than $75 billion in transaction experience while at Goldman Sachs working on a range of transactions across a variety of sectors in the media and communications industries.
