Hitachi Data Systems announces new roles for several key executives

Santa Clara, Ca., USA - Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., announced new roles for several of its key executives.

Hitachi Data Systems CEO Jack Domme will take on the added role of a corporate officer for Hitachi, Ltd.

Mr. Domme was named a corporate officer of Hitachi, Ltd. in March 2013. He serves on the strategic planning committee of Hitachi, Ltd. Mr. Domme was promoted to CEO of Hitachi Data Systems in April 2009 after serving 2 years as the company’s chief operating officer.

Prior to May 2007, he was executive vice president, heading Hitachi Data Systems Global Solutions Strategy and Development. His responsibilities included Hardware and Software Product Management, Global Solution Services, Technical Operations, the Technology Office, Business Development and Alliances, Global Product Marketing, and the Hitachi Data Systems Academy.

Mr. Domme joined Hitachi Data Systems as vice president, Storage Management Software, where he led the company’s software business segment, with responsibility for strategy, strategic alliances, product architectures, and development of Hitachi Storage Management Suite software.

Before coming to Hitachi Data Systems, he served as vice president of product and sales engineering at Storage Networks, Inc., where he defined the company's integrated software vision, architecture and roadmap. Prior to Storage Networks, he was CTO and vice president of Engineering at Mobilize, a mobile applications and content management company.

He also spent 13 years at HP where he led the Information Solutions and Services Division, Information Access Solutions Group, and Client-Server Product Group. At HP, he also held several software engineering positions.

Mr. Domme has been recognized by the industry for his leadership and his innovative approaches to information delivery. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and Master of Business Administration degree from New Mexico State University.

Additional HDS appointments include Brian Householder named to the newly created position of chief operating officer.

Mr. Householder oversees the daily operation of Hitachi Data Systems with direct, global responsibility for Sales, Service, Support, Marketing, Business Development, Partner Development, IT and Logistics.

Prior to his current role, he held multiple positions of increasing responsibility in areas such as strategic planning, partner enablement, acquisitions, and most recently, as executive vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Business Development and Partners. Mr. Householder helped lead many key initiatives at HDS, including the company strategy and direction, BlueArc, Shoden and Archivas acquisitions, as well as improvements to our marketing and partner enablement capabilities.

Mr. Householder joined HDS in 2003 from FilesX, where he ran the marketing and product management functions. Prior to that he was at Storage Networks, Inc., where he served in senior product management and marketing positions. He also worked at The Parthenon Group, a strategy consulting and investment firm and was a senior financial analyst at Procter and Gamble.

Mr. Householder holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University where he graduated summa cum laude. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.

Michael Cremen has been named executive vice president, Global Sales.

Mr. Cremen oversees the global sales organization of Hitachi Data Systems. Earlier, he served as the company’s senior vice president, Global Markets and led Global Accounts, Global Systems Integrators, Global Alliances, Global Industry Markets, and Global Channels.

A seasoned veteran with the company, Mr. Cremen joined Hitachi Data Systems in 1993 as a business analyst. His assignments have included regional vice president for the Western Region of the Americas, and senior vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific (APAC).

Mr. Cremen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Monmouth University. He also completed an executive development program at the Wharton School of Business and an executive leadership program at the International Institute of Management Development (IMD).

The executive vice president and general manager of Global Sales, Services and Support, Randy DeMont, will be retiring.

Mr. DeMont serves as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Global Sales, Services & Support at Hitachi Data Systems Corporation. Mr. DeMont served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales Services and Support of Hitachi Data Systems Corporation. He served as Vice President of Sales and Services for Systems and Technology (S&T) Division of Unisys Corp. since November 2005.

He served as senior vice president and general manager of the Americas sales organization. He served as general manager of Sales and Service of Unisys Corp. He has also held a number of increasingly responsible positions in management at Compaq Computer (now part of Hewlett-Packard), Tandem Computers, Memorex, Raytheon and IBM.

From 1990 to 1996, he served as vice president of the Western Region at Hitachi Data Systems, and District Manager for the Mountain States. Mr. DeMont was responsible for all S&T sales and Technology Consulting Services (TCS) business in Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America.

He joined Unisys from DeMont Partners, a consulting firm. Prior to that, he headed Global Solutions for Compaq, where he led the transformation of Compaq from a product-centric organization to one focused on software, services and solutions. He also served as General Manager for the largest Enterprise Accounts and for Global Alliances. He has also held sales and management positions at companies including Tandem, Hitachi, Memorex, Raytheon and IBM.

Mr. DeMont is a graduate of Wittenberg University and has studied at Stanford, Harvard, the London School of Business and the Aspen Institute.

Kevin Eggleston was appointed as Senior Vice President, Global Verticals and Integration.

Mr. Eggleston leads the Hitachi Data Systems efforts for big data, social innovation and vertical industries. He is the organization’s key interface for integration and alignment with Hitachi, Ltd. His responsibilities also include business planning, solution requirements, and aligned research and development. Prior to his current role, Mr. Eggleston was SVP and general manager of Asia Pacific. He joined Hitachi Data Systems in 2005 as Western Region vice president in the company’s Americas sales division.

A seasoned professional of the storage industry with more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Eggleston spent 24 years at StorageTek: 12 years in the U.S. field in sales, sales management and branch management positions; and 12 years in international field positions including managing StorageTek business in Latin America and Asia South Pacific regions. He also managed U.S. and international regions for 2.5 years at BlueArc.

Mr. Eggleston holds a bachelors degree in International Business from the University of Colorado.

Another key appointment within the sales team is Neville Vincent taking on the role of senior vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific.

Mr. Vincent is responsible for providing regional sales direction and leadership to drive growth and expand the company’s business and market share throughout Asia Pacific. Prior to his regional management role, Mr. Vincent was vice president and managing director of Hitachi Data Systems Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and managing director of Hitachi Data Systems Korea.
