Idacorp CEO LaMont Keen to retire, leadership succession announced

Boise, Id., USA - Idacorp, Inc. and Idaho Power Company announced the upcoming retirement of Idacorp president and chief executive officer and Idaho Power chief executive officer J. LaMont Keen.

Mr. LaMont Keen assumed the responsibilities of president and chief executive officer of Idaho Power on November 18, 2005 and of IDACORP on July 1, 2006.

He held both titles through December 31, 2011, when the title of president of Idaho Power was transferred to Darrel T. Anderson as part of the company's succession planning process.

Mr. LaMont Keen was previously Idaho Power's president and chief operating officer since March 2002. He also has served on the IDACORP and Idaho Power board of directors since July 15, 2004.

Mr. LaMont Keen joined Idaho Power in 1974. He has served in numerous capacities over his career and has been an officer of Idaho Power and/or IDACORP since 1988.

His previous officer assignments include controller, chief financial officer and senior vice president of administrative services.

Mr. Keen has played an active role in developing IDACORP's subsidiaries over his career, being involved at either the officer or director level in all of the company's diversified business ventures.

Mr. LaMont Keen is a board member of the Edison Electric Institute and is a board member and former chairman of the Western Energy Institute and the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry.

He also currently serves as a board member on the St. Luke's Hospital System Treasure Valley Board.

He is a graduate of the College of Idaho and completed the Harvard Graduate School of Business Advanced Management Program.

Mr. LaMont Keen will step down from his role as IDACORP President and CEO on April 30, 2014, and as Idaho Power CEO on December 31, 2013.

He will remain on the IDACORP and Idaho Power boards of directors after his retirement.

Concurrent with the announcement, the boards appointed Darrel Anderson, IDACORP Executive Vice President - Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer and Idaho Power President and Chief Financial Officer, to succeed Mr. Keen as President and CEO of IDACORP effective May 1, 2014, and as President and CEO of Idaho Power effective January 1, 2014.

Mr. Anderson has been the President of Idaho Power Inc. since January 1, 2012 and serves as its Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Anderson has been Executive Vice President of Administrative Services at IdaCorp, Inc., since October 1, 2009.

He has been the Chief Financial Officer of IdaCorp, Inc., and Idaho Power since March 1, 2002.

He served as the Principal Accounting Officer of IDACORP Inc., and Idaho Power until May 20, 2010.

He served as Senior Vice President of Administrative Services of IDACORP Inc. and Idaho Power Company since July 1, 2004. He served as Executive Vice President of Administrative Services - Idaho. Mr. Anderson served as Vice President, Finance and Treasurer of IDACORP Inc. and Idaho Power Company from May 5, 1999 to March 1, 2002.

He served as a Vice President of Idaho Power Co. and IDACORP Inc. until July 1, 2004.

He served as Corporate Controller at Applied Power Corp. from January 25, 1999 to May 5, 1999.

In 1998, Mr. Anderson moved to Lacey, Wash., where he served as Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations at Applied Power Corp., an IDACORP subsidiary that developed solar photovoltaic systems from June 5, 1998 to January 25, 1999 and its Corporate Controller from February 26, 1996 to June 5, 1998. He returned to Idaho Power in January 1999.

He served as Senior Manager of audit services for a big five professional services firm.

In this capacity he was a firm-designated specialist in electric and gas utility operations.

He has been Director of Idacorp, Inc. since September 19, 2013.

He has been Director of IDACORP Inc. and Idaho Power Company since September 2013.

Mr. Anderson serves as a Director of IDACOMM Inc. Mr. Anderson graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Accounting and Finance.

He is a licensed CPA in Oregon (inactive).

Additionally on November 21 the boards of directors promoted Steven R. Keen to Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of Idaho Power effective January 1, 2014 and of IDACORP effective May 1, 2014, from his current roles as Vice President - Finance and Treasurer of IDACORP and Senior Vice President - Finance and Treasurer of Idaho Power.

Mr. R. Keen assumed the role of Senior Vice President - Finance and Treasurer of Idaho Power on January 1, 2012.

He was named Vice President of Finance and Treasurer of IDACORP and Idaho Power in May 2010, and retains that title for IDACORP.

Previously, Mr. R. Keen served as president of IDACORP Financial, a wholly-owned investment subsidiary of IDACORP focused primarily on tax-advantaged investments.

He started his career at Idaho Power in 1982 in the Property Accounting department. He later moved into the area of tax and worked as tax accountant, property tax representative and tax research analyst before attaining the position of tax director.

He also served as interim CFO for IdaTech during most of 2001.

Mr. R. Keen is a CPA, licensed in the State of Idaho. He graduated with high honors in 1981 from Idaho State University in Pocatello with a BBA in Accounting.

He is past president of the board of directors and a current member of the Idaho Society of CPAs (ISCPA).

He was named the "Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry for 1999" by the ISCPA.

He is the current chairman of the board of directors for the Idaho Tax Foundation, and also the current secretary-treasurer and member of the board of directors for the Idaho Housing and Finance Association.
