Milpitas, Ca., USA - March 12, 2013, Milpitas, Ca., USA - Intersil Corporation, a semiconductor company, announced the appointment of Necip Sayiner as president, CEO and a member of the board.

Mr. Sayiner was most recently the president and CEO of Silicon Labs. Prior to Silicon Labs, he held various leadership positions at Agere Systems, most recently as the vice president and general manager of the Enterprise and Networking division.
He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and physics from Bosphorus University in Turkey, a master’s degree in engineering from Southern Illinois University and a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Sayiner replaces James Diller, who served as interim CEO since December 2012 and will remain a member of Intersil's board of directors.
Mr. Diller has been a Director since May 2002. He served as Interim President and CEO of Intersil for three months. He is a retired Chairman of the Board of Elantec Semiconductor, a post he held from 1997 to May 2002. He served as a Director of Elantec Semiconductor until it was acquired by Intersil. He also served as Elantec’s President and CEO.
Mr. Diller is a founder of PMC-Sierra and was its President and CEO; he is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. In addition, he was Chairman of the Board of Avago Technologies and previously served on its Board; and he was also a Director of Sierra Wireless.
The company also announced that, effective April 1, 2013, Mercedes Johnson will join the management team as interim CFO.
Ms. Johnson, an Intersil director since August 2005, was previously Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Avago Technologies from November 2005 until her retirement in August 2008. Prior to that, she worked for Lam Research Corporation, serving as its senior vice president of finance and its chief financial officer.
Ms. Johnson has served as a member of the board of directors of Micron Technology, Juniper Networks, and Storage Technology Corporation until the company was sold to Sun Microsystems, Inc.
The company also announced that Jonathan Kennedy, Intersil's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will be leaving the company.
Mr. Kennedy will remain CFO through March 31, 2013 and will remain with the Company in an advisory capacity through April 5, 2013.
Mr. Kennedy previously served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of the company and as Corporate Controller. He joined Intersil in June 2004 as a Finance Director. Prior to joining Intersil, he served as Director of Finance and Information Technology at Alcon, and he held management roles in finance and information technology at Autonomous Technologies and Harris Corporation. ■
