Milano, Italy – Intesa Sanpaolo, a bank, announces that Marco Morelli, its deputy manager to the chief executive, was leaving the group.[break]
Mr. Morelli served as General Manager Deputy to the CEO of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and Head of the Banca dei Territori Division since March 2010. Previously Deputy General Manager of Banca MPS since June 2006, in charge of Corporate Banking Capital Market until June 2008 when he was appointed CFO of the Montepaschi Group, still holding office as Deputy General Manager. He was also the Managing Director of Mps Capital Services Banca per le Imprese.
Before joining the MPS Group, Mr. Morelli had also been CEO and General Manager of J.P. Morgan Italia and a member of J.P. Morgan Europe Executive Committee. Previously he had also worked for Ubs, Samuel Montagu and formerly for Kpmg.
A graduate of Economics and Business from the Luiss University of Roma, he is now a Member of the Board of Directors of the University. He is also Chartered Accountant and Auditor. He is a Director and Member of the Executive Committee of ABI (the Italian Banking Association).
Enrico Tommaso Cucchiani, Managing Director and CEO, takes on ad interim the responsibility for the Banca dei Territori.
Mr. Cucchiani is Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Intesa Sanpaolo as of December 2011, he was previously Chairman of Allianz S.p.A. and a member of the Management Board ("Vorstand") of Allianz SE, with responsibility for the insurance market in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece and South America and of the global strategic development and restructuring programme for the Claims business and distribution system of the insurance group.

Before entering Lloyd Adriatico in 1996, where he had been progressively appointed General Manager, CEO, member of the Executive Committee and Chairman, Mr. Cucchiani had been appointed General Manager of the Gucci Group from 1985 to 1992, then founding a venture capital firm. ■
