Shanghai, China - December 12, 2013, Shanghai, China - JA Solar Holdings Co., a solar cell producer, announced that Herman Zhao has been appointed the company's new chief financial officer, effective January 1, 2014.

Mr. Zhao previously served as JA Solar's CFO from July 2006 to May 2008. Since then, he has served as CFO at Legend Silicon Corporation, a Silicon Valley-based fabless semiconductor company, and Sky Solar Holdings Co., Ltd., a downstream solar-project developer.
Min Cao, the Company's current CFO, will assume the role of chief strategy officer upon Mr. Zhao's appointment.
Concurrently, Jian Xie, the Company's current chief operating officer will assume broader leadership at the Company as its president, and current chief technology officer Yong Liu will become the Company's COO.
Mr. Xie was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in January 2010. He has been the director of board since August 2009. Since joining JA Solar in April 2006, Mr. Xie has served in such capacities as the company's director of corporate finance, director of investor relations, assistant to the chief executive officer and secretary of the board of directors.
Prior to joining JA Solar, Mr. Xie worked in the investment banking department of Ping'an Securities Co., Ltd., and as an associate in the investment department at Dogain Holdings Group Co., Ltd.
Mr. Xie received his master's degree in finance from Guanghua School of Management at Beijing University in 2004.
Mr. Liu was appointed Chief Technology Officer in September 2010. Mr. Liu has been general manager in charge of JA Solar's Yangzhou manufacturing site since he joined the company in July 2008. Mr. Liu has more than 15 years of operation management experience at semiconductor wafer and solar cell manufacturing facilities.
Prior to joining JA Solar, he served as fab director at Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), responsible for running three 12-inch wafer foundry fabs, which were the most advanced wafer fabs in China. Mr. Liu had held various management positions in R&D and manufacturing since joining SMIC in 2001.
Previously, Mr. Liu worked as deputy production manager at Wacker Siltronic Singapore. ■
