Jaguar Land Rover appoints Phil Popham group marketing director, announces executive changes

Whitley, United Kingdom - Jaguar Land Rover announced changes in the composition of the executive committee, effective October 1, 2013.

Phil Popham, currently Director Group Sales Operations, will become Group Marketing Director Jaguar Land Rover. In this new role he will be responsible for all global marketing activity on both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

Mr. Popham was appointed Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Director, in December 2010. Mr. Popham, previously Managing Director of Land Rover, has overall management responsibility for the global sales and after sales operations of both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands, overseeing the company's national and regional business units and the worldwide dealer network.

He has more than 20 years combined sales and marketing experience having joined Land Rover as a graduate trainee in 1988, during which time he completed a Business Studies degree at the University of Aston. He held a number of senior positions within the company including; Director of Land Rover European Operations, Marketing Director inSouth Africaand Vice President of Marketing for Land Rover North America before briefly joining Volkswagen.

Mr. Popham returned to Land Rover in 2001 as UK Sales Director, where he presided over two years of record breaking sales volume and profit. In March 2003 he was promoted to Managing Director of Jaguar and Land Rover's UK operations before becoming Managing Director of Land Rover in 2006.

Andy Goss, currently President JLR North America, will become Group Sales Operations Director with responsibility for global sales and customer service. He will take over the lead of Mr. Popham's current team and will join the Executive Committee. An announcement about the successor to the role of President JLR North America will be made in due course.

Mr. Goss previously served as CEO of Porsche Cars GB, where he directed the German automaker's operations in Great Britain. Before that he worked at Austin Rover, Citroën, Nissan, Lexus and Toyota.

Adrian Hallmark, currently Global Brand Director for Jaguar, is appointed to the new role of Group Strategy Director with responsibility for developing business strategy, process and supporting strategic projects.

Mr. Hallmark has worked with some of the world's biggest car marques. He was part of the team responsible for turning Porsche around in the UK. Then he moved on to Bentley. This was followed by senior roles at Volkswagen in Asia and SAAB, before he joined Jaguar in 2010.

John Edwards, currently Global Brand Director for Land Rover, will move to a new role in the senior management team which will be subject to a future announcement.
