Homer LaRue, Esq. has worked as a mediator and arbitrator for more than 20 years and has resolved employment disputes and labor and non-labor disputes, both in the public and the private sectors. He is based in the JAMS Washington D.C. Resolution Center.
Professor LaRue teaches lawyering skills, civil procedure, professional responsibility, and dispute resolution. Professor LaRue is one of the founding faculty at the City University of New York School of Law and has experience with the development of a nationally recognized first year clinical experience at the University of Maryland. Professor LaRue also served as the director of clinical education for the District of Columbia School of Law.
Professor LaRue has obtained recognition for his work as a clinical teacher. He was voted by his fellow teachers to be the chair of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Clinical Legal Education and served in that capacity from January of 1996 through the annual meeting of the Section in January of 1997.
rofessor LaRue’s other professional accomplishments include service as a mediator and arbitrator in a variety of disputes. He has also developed programs to assist persons of color in becoming mediators and arbitrators in labor and non-labor disputes.
Wayne Thorpe, Esq. has extensive experience in resolving civil disputes, including class actions, mass torts and other complex cases involving employment, business, commercial, construction, healthcare, and intellectual property claims. He is based in the JAMS Atlanta Resolution Center.
Mr. Thorpe earned his B.A. degree from with distinction, University of Virginia and J.D., cum laude from University of Georgia Law School. He worked as a law clerk to Chief United States District Judge Charles A. Moye, Jr., United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, 1979-1981, and as litigation partner at Alston & Bird, 1981-1998.
Mr. Thorpe has been named in Georgia Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America for ADR. He is a member, Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution, 1997-2002, appointed by Georgia Supreme Court.
Mr. Thorpe is the fellow of American Bar Foundation and Atlanta Bar Foundation; a member of National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Roster of Mediators and Arbitrators and National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Roster of Mediators and Arbitrators. He was and adjunct Law School Professor, University of Georgia and Georgia State University, Alternative Dispute Resolution Courses, 1998-2004, and is a fellow, American College of Civil Trial Mediators. ■
