John Lewis Partnership changes its top management
Mr. Lewis joined The John Lewis Partnership in 1994, after initial postings in John Lewis High Wycombe, Peter Jones and John Lewis Welwyn he was appointed Merchandise Manager in 1996 and in 1997 became acting General Manager at John Lewis Watford.
Mr. Lewis went onto being Managing Director, George Henry Lee and then Cheadle in 2000 after which he became Project Director, Simplification in April 2002 and then Supply Chain Director (John Lewis) in December of the same year.
Mr. Lewis took up the post of Director, Retail Operations in April 2007, since 2009 he has been the Partners' Councillor until taking up his current position of Managing Director, Partnership Services in October 2012 responsible for all activities within.
Prior to joining the Partnership Mr. Lewis was Associate Consultant with Bain & Company, later becoming Promoted Consultant. He then became Finance Manager at Proctor and Gamble. He has an MBA from INSEAD.
Mr. Lewis is succeeding Loraine Woodhouse who was appointed Acting Group Finance Director on December 1, 2014.
Ms. Woodhouse joined the Partnership in August 2013 after leaving her previous role as Finance Director of fashion retailer Hobbs.
Tom Athron, currently Finance Director of Waitrose, is to join the Board as Group Development Director on October 5, 2015. He will be succeeded as Finance Director of Waitrose by Ms. Woodhouse.
Mr. Athron joined the Waitrose Board in August 2009 as Finance Director. Prior to this he was Buying Director at John Lewis, responsible for Electricals and Home Technology. He joined the Partnership in July 2005 as Head of Group Financial Strategy. ■
