New York, USA - July 30, 2013, New York, USA - Bloomberg LP announced that Justin B. Smith will serve as chief executive officer of Bloomberg Media Group, effective September 16, 2013.

Mr. Smith served as President of Atlantic Media from 2010-2013 and President of Atlantic Consumer Media division from 2007-2010. Under Smith's leadership, Atlantic Media also launched several digital platforms such as Quartz and Defense One.
Prior to joining Atlantic Media in 2007, Mr. Smith served as President and Publisher of The Week magazine where he launched the U.S. edition in 2001. He joined The Week from The Economist Group, where he was head of corporate strategy in London, Hong Kong and in New York.
Mr. Smith also worked for the U.S. Department of State in West Africa and Washington, D.C. and graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. He is also a founder of Breaking Media, the Bali Purnati Center for the Arts, and the Ouagadougou Education Project.
The company also announced that Andrew R. Lack, who has served as CEO of Bloomberg Media Group since 2008, will become Chairman of Bloomberg Media Group.
Mr. Lack served as the Chief Executive Officer of Bloomberg Media Group and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Multimedia Group at Bloomberg L.P. since October 2008. He as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Music Entertainment, served as its Member of Management Board, and was the Chief Executive Officer of Sony BMG Music Entertainmen.
Mr. Lack served as the Chief Operating Officer and President of NBC Universal before joining NBC News. He served as the Senior Executive Producer of the CBS Reports and served as the President of the entire network. He serves as a Director of Sezmi Corporation (formerly Building B, Inc.), BMG Entertainment, and IMG Worldwide.
Mr. Lack's broadcasts at CBS earned numerous honors, including 16 Emmy Awards, 4 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Journalism Awards, 5 Ohio State Awards, an Overseas Press Club Award, 2 Gavel Awards from the American Bar Association, a George Polk Award and a Clarion Award. ■
