London, United Kingdom - August 18, 2016, London, United Kingdom - Laird PLC, a technology company, announces that its chief executive officer David Lockwood will step down as chief executive and director, effective September 2016.

Mr. Lockwood joined Laird in July 2012 and was appointed Chief Executive with effect from 13 August 2012.
Mr. Lockwood was formerly Vice President Global Defence & Security at BT Global Services and he has experience of international operations, gained from his roles at GPT (Marconi), BAE Systems, Intense Limited (a photonics high-tech start-up) and Thales Corporation.
Mr. Lockwood chaired the Scottish Government’s Technology Advisory Group and, in 2005, was the recipient of the Scottish Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Technology.
In February 2014, he was appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of Knowledge Transfer Network Ltd, a vehicle which was established in April 2014, to support the work of Innovate UK (formerly the Technology Strategy Board) – the UK’s innovation agency which is sponsored by the UK Government’s Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
The Laird Board announces that Tony Quinlan, the current Chief Financial Officer of Laird PLC, has been appointed to take over from Mr. Lockwood on 5 September 2016.
Mr. Quinlan joined Laird on 1 July 2015 and was appointed to the Board as Chief Financial Officer on 28 July 2015. Mr. Quinlan was most recently Group Finance Director of Drax Group plc.
He previously worked at Marks & Spencer where he held a number of senior positions within Internal Audit, Corporate Finance, Investor Relations and Financial Control, including Director of Finance, the deputy to the Group Finance Director.
Mr. Quinlan is also Vice Chairman of the Port of London Authority (PLA), where he chairs the Audit Committee. ■
