Magento appoints two senior executives

Brussels, Belgium - September 3, 2010, Brussels, Belgium - Magento, an eCommerce platform, announced that it has appointed Michel Goossens as vice president and general manager of its EMEA operations, and Jary Carter as vice president of North America sales operations.

Mr. Goossens joins Magento from Red Hat where he was vice president EMEA of the organization’s JBoss division. He joined JBoss in 2005 to lead the EMEA sales operations and further boost the company’s explosive revenue growth.

Before joining JBoss, Mr. Goossens founded SilverStream Software's EMEA operations. As vice president for EMEA, he actively contributed to a successful IPO and impressive revenue growth before its acquisition by Novell in 2002.

Mr. Carter joins Magento from open source enterprise content management system vendor, Alfresco. As Alfresco’s Americas director of channels, he led the Americas partner organization, as well as the territory sales team.
