Manulife: Craig Bromley to head U.S. Division, John Hancock Financial Services

Toronto, ON, Canada - June 15, 2012, Toronto, ON, Canada - Manulife Financial announced that Craig Bromley will be appointed senior executive vice president and general manager, U.S. Division, and president of John Hancock Financial Services, effective September 1, 2012.

Mr. Bromley leads Manulife's business in Japan as the Executive Vice President and General Manager, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Japan. Earlier in his career, he led Manulife's merger with John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. in 2004.

Mr. Bromley was previously Executive Vice President and Deputy President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer of Manulife Japan.

Prior to his time at Manulife Japan, he served in Canada as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Investor Relations of Manulife Financial. He also managed the Company’s relationship with rating agencies.

Upon joining Manulife in March 2000, Mr. Bromley worked on a number of transactions, including the acquisition of Daihyaku in Japan, Commercial Union in Canada, as well as other Canadian acquisitions, and supported regional business development activities in Asia.

Prior to joining Manulife, Mr. Bromley was Assistant Vice President, Business Development for Canada Trust, and worked in management consulting and with the Ontario Government.
