Lima, Peru - September 11, 2014, Lima, Peru - Maple Energy plc, an energy company, announces the resignation of Tony L. Hines as executive director and officer, and the resignation of Ricardo Vega Llona as non-executive director.

Mr. Hines will continue to serve as General Manager of Maple Gas Corporation del Peru S.R.L.
Mr. Vega Llona will continue to serve as director of The Maple Companies, Limited, both of which are subsidiaries of Maple. Mr. Vega Llona will also remain active with the Company's board as an observer.
Mr. Hines has served as the Senior Vice President of Operations of Maple since 2003 and was responsible for the management of Maple's operations including oil and gas exploration and production and hydrocarbon refining activities. He been employed by the Maple Group of companies since July 1986 and has held a number of positions including acting as Project Manager for Maple's successful Aguaytia Energy project.
Prior to his employment with the Maple Group of companies, Mr. Hines worked as the Drilling, Production, and Reservoir Engineer and Operations Manager at Nova Energy Corporation, where he supervised the production and drilling operations for oil and gas wells. He also currently serves on a number of boards and committees of boards for educational and business organisations including the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Charitable Trust and Rio Cristal Zinc Corporation.
Mr. Hines holds an undergraduate degree in radiation and nuclear technology from Oklahoma State University and completed postgraduate courses in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Oklahoma.
Mr. Vega Llona has served as a senator in the Peruvian Congress as well as participated as a member of the Integration Advisory Council of the Peruvian government's Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Tourism and Integration. Mr. Vega Llona has also served as the executive director of the Investment Promotion Agency PROINVERSION and a director of the Export Promotion Fund FOPEX, two organizations focused on developing Peruvian commercial interests and increasing international exposure to business operations in Peru.
In recognition of his services to the Peruvian government, Mr. Vega Llona was awarded the Grand Cross Order of Merit on June 20, 2008.
Mr. Vega Llona has also held a number of senior positions with high profile Latin American companies and served as president and a member of the advisory council of The National Confederation of Private Business Associations CONFIEP. He has also been the president and a member of the board of directors and the advisory council of ADEX Peru, the association of Peruvian exporters.
Currently Mr. Vega Llona serves on a number of boards of companies in the industrial and commercial sector, including Obrascon Huarte Lain (OHL), one of the largest international concession and construction groups. He Llona has previously been a director of Globenatural Internacional S.A. and Edelnor.
Mr. Vega Llona holds a diploma in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business Administration (ESAN) in Lima and a diploma in Business Management from OIT, United Nations in Italy.
The Company announced that Michel Meeus and Gerardo Sepulveda have been appointed to serve as non-executive directors.
Mr. Meeus has been a Director of Alcogroup S.A. and Alcogroup Holding since 2007. He also serves as Managing Director of Alcodis S.A. (through Solis Mngt S.A.), a 100% subsidiary of Alcogroup S.A.
Mr. Meeus is also on the Board of Alcobiofuels SA since 2013. He was appointed as a Director of Cadogan Petroleum in 2014 and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Theolia SA. His career started at Chase Manhattan, in Brussels and London, as a corporate financier. Thereafter he moved to Security Pacific Bank in London and subsequently worked as a Managing Director in Private Equity with Electra Kingsway.
Mr. Sepulveda is a founding partner of First Capital Inversiones y AsesorÃas Ltda. He is co-founding partner of Latin America Enterprise Fund Managers, LLC and was also a co-founding partner of The Latin America Enterprise Fund I & II. He has also served as Deputy to the CEO of Nueva Management Ltd. ■
