Marriott International: Chris Tatum to head North Asia, Hawaii and South Pacific

Hawaii, Hi., USA - January 2, 2010, Hawaii, Hi., USA - Marriott International announced that is has appointed Chris Tatum to vice president in charge of the portfolio of hotels and resorts in North Asia, Hawaii and South Pacific.

A graduate of Radford High School on Oahu, Mr. Tatum joined Marriott in 1981 as a member of the Maui Marriott opening team.

During his 28 years with Marriott, Mr. Tatum held leadership positions in the United States, Asia, and Australia, including the opening Resident Manager at the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, opening General Manager of the Brisbane Marriott Hotel in Australia, General Manager of the Renaissance Wailea Resort Maui and General Manager of the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa on Oahu.

Mr. Tatum is currently the General Manager of the 1,310-room Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa.

Mr. Tatum is currently Chairman of the Oahu Visitors Bureau and Chair-elect of the Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association.

Mr. Tatum also serves on the boards of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, Waikiki Improvement Association, Waikiki Community Center, and Waikiki Business District Improvement Center.

Mr. Tatum received his Bachelor of Arts degree in hotel and restaurant management from Michigan State University.
