Houston, Tx., USA - September 26, 2012, Houston, Tx., USA - McDermott International, Inc., an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) company, announced that William H. Schumann, III has been appointed to its board of directors, effective September 24, 2012.

Mr. Schumann will also serve on the Company’s Audit and Governance Committees. Mr. Schumann retired from FMC Technologies, Inc., a provider of subsea technology solutions to the energy industry and products for other industrial markets, in August 2012, following more than 30 years of service. During his distinguished career with FMC, Mr. Schumann held positions of increasing responsibility, including serving more than 10 years as Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Schumann served as an Executive Vice President of FMC Technologies Inc. from March 15, 2007 to August 31, 2012. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of FMC Technologies Inc. from February 2001 to November 30, 2011, and served as its Senior Vice President since 2001 and Treasurer from 2002 to 2004 and since 2010. He joined FMC in 1981 as Director of Pension Investments. He was named Director of Risk Management in 1983 and Director of Investor Relations and Pension Investments in 1986.
Mr. Schumann was appointed Treasurer of FMC in 1987. He served as an Executive Director of Corporate Development from 1991 to 1993, when he joined the company’s Agricultural Products Group as Director of North American Operations. Mr. Schumann was elected a Vice President of FMC in June 1995, when he also was appointed General Manager of the company’s Agricultural Products Group. He was elected Vice President, Corporate Development in October 1998 and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in December 1999.
Before joining FMC Corporation, Mr. Schumann served as Financial Planning Manager at Sunkist Growers, Inc., a position he had held since 1975. From 1973 to 1975, he was at Hughes Helicopter as a Program Management Analyst. Mr. Schumann serves as an Independent Director of Great Lakes Advisors and UAP Holding Corporation. He serves as a Director of United Agri Products Inc.
Mr. Schumann graduated from The University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and from the University of Southern California with a Master of Science degree in management science. He also serves on the boards of directors of Avnet, Inc., an industrial distributor of electronic components and products, and AMCOL International Corporation, an international producer and marketer of value-added, specialty mineral and related products.
In addition, the Company announced that it has accepted the resignation of Thomas C. Schievelbein from McDermott’s Board of Directors. ■
