McDonald's names new USA president

Oak Brook, Il., USA - August 23, 2014, Oak Brook, Il., USA - McDonald's Corporation announced Jeff Stratton, McDonald's USA president, has made the decision to retire after 41 years with the brand, effective effective October 15, 2014.




Previously, Mr. Stratton was McDonald’s Corporate Executive Vice President and Worldwide Chief Restaurant Operations Officer. Mr. Stratton has more than 40 years of work experience with the McDonald’s system. Throughout his McDonald’s career, he has managed various aspects of restaurant operations in the field as well as in McDonald’s home office in Oak Brook.

Mr. Stratton joined McDonald’s as a crewmember in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan in 1973. He worked his way up through the restaurants and held various field operations positions in the Detroit Region until 1987 when he was promoted to Staff Director of Operations and Menu Management.

In 1990, he moved to Columbus to serve as the Director of Operations, and later held several corporate positions at the company’s headquarters before returning to field operations as the Regional Vice President for the McDonald’s Denver Region in 1998.

In 2001, Mr. Stratton became Senior Vice President and Chief Supporting Officer of the West Division and was promoted to West Division President later that year. He returned to home office in 2002 and joined the U.S. leadership team as the Executive Vice President and Chief Restaurant Operations Officer for McDonald’s U.S.A. In 2005, Mr. Stratton became Worldwide Chief Restaurant Officer.

The Board of Directors has elected former McDonald's Executive Mike Andres as McDonald's USA president effective October 15, the date of Mr. Stratton's retirement.

Mr. Andres began his McDonald's career in the restaurant, as manager for his family-owned McDonald's in Northern California. He went on to build a 30-year track record of success at McDonald's in diverse leadership roles. He started in marketing and worked across operations and development before becoming regional vice president and senior vice president.
