Vantaa, Finland - Fortaco, a partner to the heavy off-highway equipment and marine industries, announced that Mika Mahlberg became its interim president and CEO.

Mika Mahlberg works as an independent consultant and strategic advisor.
Before his consultancy career, he spent 26 years at Konecranes, a global leader in material handling solutions.
During his tenure at Konecranes, Mr. Mahlberg held several leadership positions, including Executive Vice President and Head of Business Area Port Solutions from 2017 to 2023; Senior Vice President and Head of Business Unit Port Cranes from 2008 to 2016.
As of 1 January 2025, the company’s president and CEO Lars Hellberg retires.
Lars Hellberg has studied mechanical engineering at Ascheberg Technical School in Gothenburg and Business Management at IMD in Lausanne.
He has served as a board member in several private Nordic companies.
Mr. Hellberg started as a powertrain engineer at Volvo Cars in the beginning of 1980’s and continued by the advanced engineering of future high performing powertrains and concepts.
Mr. Hellberg was awarded twice by AB Volvo, Technology Awards were granted for the new engine technologies and the market introduction of a car traction stability system.
Mr. Hellberg worked in several functions, also in close partnerships with other car manufactures, and ended his years at Volvo Cars by working the last years as Vice President for Marketing, Sales and Service.
From 2001 to 2004 he worked as a member of Saab Automotive Executive Management Team and as a member of General Motors’ European Quality Board.
The following nine years he worked as an Executive Board of Management member at Wärtsilä Group Oy in charge of Research & Development, Manufacturing and Procurement of marine and land based power plant engines as well as other related products.
Also, the Board of Director chairmanships and/or memberships in the global subsidiary companies were included in the assignment at Wärtsilä.
Since end of 2013 Mr. Hellberg was President and CEO for Fortaco Group Oy. ■
