London, United Kingdom - March 26, 2015, London, United Kingdom - Monitise plc, a mobile payment provider, announced that co-CEO Elizabeth Buse becomes sole CEO of Monitise and founder and co-CEO Alastair Lukies steps down from the board.

Mr. Lukies founded Monitise in 2003. Three years later, Monitise was recognised as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and in June 2007 Mr. Lukies led the company's demerger from Morse and listing on the LSE's AIM market.
In January 2014, he was appointed as a Business Ambassador for the financial services industry by the UK Government. He was named Non-Executive Chairman of fintech industry body, Innovate Finance, at its launch in August 2014.
Mr. Lukies was awarded a CBE for services to mobile banking and charity in June 2014, and was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2011 Growing Business Awards.
Prior to conceiving, financing and building Monitise, he was a co-founder of epolitix.com, the portal for Westminster, Whitehall and the devolved institutions. He remains available to the business and key partners as Founder and Strategic Adviser to Elizabeth Buse.
Ms. Buse joined Monitise in June 2014 as co-CEO, responsible for the company's operations, including sales, marketing, product, technology, finance and administrative functions.
Prior to Monitise, Ms. Buse spent 16 years at Visa, most recently as Global Executive, Solutions, responsible for the company's merchant relationships, ecommerce, mobile and processing products. Before that, she spent three years in Singapore, running Visa's business in Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Ms. Buse also held roles as Visa's Global Head of Product; Executive Vice President of Product Development and Management; and Executive Vice President of Emerging Markets & Technologies, leading all aspects of product strategy, development and growth.
Prior to joining Visa in 1998, Ms. Buse served as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Electronic Funds Division of First Data Corp. She also serves as a Director of Travelport, a leading travel commerce platform listed on NYSE, and was a Director of Artio Global Investors Inc. from September 2009 to January 2013.
Stephen Shurrock, CEO of Consumer at Telefónica within the Commercial & Digital Unit, is appointed Non-Executive Director representing strategic shareholders Telefónica and Santander.
Mr. Shurrock was CEO of New Business Ventures in Telefonica Digital. Before joining Telefonica Digital at its launch, he was Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica Ireland, and Sales Director for Telefonica UK. ■
