Mountain View, Ca., USA - April 11, 2013, Mountain View, Ca., USA - Mozilla Corporation announced that Gary Kovacs will be stepping down as CEO later this year but will continue as a member of the board of directors.

Prior to joining Mozilla, Mr. Kovacs held senior leadership roles as Senior VP of Markets, Solutions & Products at Sybase (through its acquisition by SAP), as General Manager and VP of Mobile & Devices at Adobe and as VP of Product Marketing at Macromedia (through its acquisition by Adobe).
Previously, Kovacs led the creation and growth of Zi Corporation, a company specializing in embedded software and services for mobile and consumer devices. Prior to Zi Corporation, he spent 10 years at IBM in leadership positions in product management, sales, marketing and operations within the global software division. He holds a bachelor of commerce and an MBA with distinction, from the University of Calgary.
The company also announced that Mitchell Baker has expanded her role to become executive chair.
As the leader of the Mozilla Project, Ms. Baker is responsible for organizing and motivating developer of Mozilla Firefox Web browser and other Mozilla products. She has been the general manager of the Mozilla project since 1999. She was named CEO of Mozilla in January 2008. She received her BA in Asian Studies from UC Berkeley and her JD from the Boalt Hall School of Law.
The company also announced that Jay Sullivan, previously SVP of Products, has been appointed chief operating officer.
Mr. Sullivan leads the Firefox OS program and helps manage Mozilla’s continued evolution and growth. He joined Mozilla in 2007. Previously, he was co-founder and VP of Products at PocketThis, a mobile software applications and tools provider.
He has also held management and software engineering positions at Oracle, Information Resources and Firefly Network. He has been granted three U.S. patents for his work on mobile software and personalization. He is a graduate of Yale University.
The company also announced that Harvey Anderson has been appointed SVP business and legal affairs.
Mr. Anderson serves as Corporate Secretary. He joined Mozilla in 2008, and prior to Mozilla, Harvey served as SVP Corporate Affairs and General Counsel for Seven Networks, where he managed the company’s legal and corporate affairs activities. He also served as COO and General Counsel for Flywheel Communications, Inc. and Medscape (MSCP).
Mr. Anderson has a J.D. from the University of San Francisco, a B.S. in engineering from Marquette University, and is a member of the United States patent bar.
The company also announced that Li Gong has been appointed Senior Vice President of mobile devices.
Mr. Gong is also President of Asia Operations for Mozilla Corporation. He is also CEO of the Mozilla subsidiary companies in China and Taiwan. He started the Mozilla China Foundation in 2005, Mozilla Online in Beijing in 2007 and Mozilla Taiwan in Taipei in 2011.
Prior to joining Mozilla, he was with Microsoft as General Manager of MSN in China and Vice President of the Microsoft China R&D Group.
Before Microsoft, he was a Distinguished Engineer and also served in senior managerial positions at Sun Microsystems. Mr. Gong participated as co-founder, investor and advisor in a number of startups in the Silicon Valley and in China. He was Venture Partner and Head of China Office for Bessemer Venture Partners. ■
