New York, USA – News Corporation announced the appointment of Niklas Lagergren as senior vice president, government affairs for Europe, Middle East and Africa, effective March 1, 2013.[break]
Mr. Lagergren who joins the company from the Motion Picture Association's European Office in Brussels. He served for more than a decade at the MPA, most recently as Vice President for EU Affairs. He began his career at European Commission, where he held a number of positions at the Secretariat General before joining the FiSystem Web Agency, the team responsible for managing the EU's Internet portal.
Mr. Lagergren is a political scientist who completed his studies at the Graduate Institute of International Studies (University of Geneva) in 1992 where he obtained a bachelor degree in international relations. He then went on to receive a Masters' degree in European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges in 1994.
In addition, the Company announced that Benjamin King has been named Director, Government Affairs for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
