Merrillville, Ind., USA - December 17, 2013, Merrillville, Ind., USA - NiSource Inc., a distributor of electricity, natural gas and water, announced that Jimmy D. Staton, EVP and group CEO for the company's Columbia Pipeline Group (CPG) business unit, has elected to retire, effective March 31, 2014.

Mr. Staton serves as Executive Vice President and Group CEO for Columbia Pipeline Group (CPG).
Mr. Staton is a member of NiSource's executive management council, joining NiSource in March of 2008 after serving in a variety of senior executive positions in the energy industry, including at Dominion Resources, Inc., Consolidated Natural Gas Company and CNG Transmission Corporation.
He began his energy industry career as a petroleum engineer at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. After leaving the public sector, he held several rate, regulatory and strategic planning positions with Arkla Energy Resources and Consolidated Natural Gas Company (CNG).
In 1996, Mr. Staton was named Vice President, Pricing, Planning and Financial Services for CNG Transmission Corporation where he served as the company's chief financial officer. In 1999, he became President, Asset Operations, for CNG's Regulated Businesses.
After CNG merged with Dominion Resources, Inc. in 2000, Mr. Staton was named Senior Vice President, Electric Delivery, where he was responsible for Dominion's electric distribution in Virginia and North Carolina. In 2003, he was named Senior Vice President, Delivery Operations, where he was responsible for providing service to Dominion's four million gas and electric customers in six states.
Mr. Staton currently serves on the boards of the American Gas Foundation, the Edison Electric Institute, and the Southern Gas Association. He is also the board sponsor for the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America's Legislative Committee, as well as a member of the American Gas Association. He earned a B.S degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1983.
In addition, the company announced that NiSource Senior Vice President Glen L. Kettering, a veteran energy industry leader with extensive leadership experience in the natural gas pipeline business, is assuming interim CEO responsibility for the CPG business unit.
Mr. Kettering is senior vice president, Corporate Affairs at NiSource Inc., a position he has held since March 2006. He is responsible for leading the company's investor relations, communications and federal government affairs functions.
Mr. Kettering joined the law department of Columbia Gas Transmission in 1979 and has served in a variety of legal, regulatory, commercial and executive roles, including President of Columbia Gas Transmission and Columbia Gulf Transmission.
He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from West Virginia University and a doctor of jurisprudence degree from the West Virginia University College of Law. He is a member of the Energy Bar Association and the West Virginia State Bar. He also serves as a trustee of the NiSource Charitable Foundation. ■
