Nissan strengthens operations globally

Takashi Hata is appointed senior vice president and chairman of Nissan's Africa, Middle East and India region, effective February 1, 2014.
Mr. Hata, currently president of JATCO Ltd, a supplier of automotive transmissions and partially owned by Nissan, also serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Jatco Usa, Inc.
Jun Seki, who will become President of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL) Nissan's joint venture in China with Dong Feng Group on January 1, 2014, is also appointed senior vice president and chairman of Nissan's China region effective January 1, 2014.
Mr. Seki joined Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML) in 1986 and has held various management positions, including responsibility for powertrain production engineering. In April 2012, he was appointed corporate vice president of the Japan/Asia business, management of affiliated companies and Japanese domestic network.
He has been based in Wuhan since April 2013, when he was appointed vice president of DFL responsible for product planning and the electric vehicle business.
Paul Willcox, formerly the head of sales and marketing for Nissan Europe will be appointed senior vice president and chairman of Nissan's Europe region.
Mr. Willcox started his career, following graduation with a degree in management sciences, at Peugeot GB. He joined Nissan Motor Company GB in 1992 and has held numerous management positions in sales and marketing, including manager corporate planning, general manager marketing strategy and pricing, and marketing director Nissan GB. ■
