NV Energy announces senior leadership changes

Las Vegas, Nv., USA - NV Energy, Inc. announced that chief financial officer Dilek Samil was named executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Ms. Samil joined NV Energy as Senior Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, in June 2010.

Prior to joining NV Energy, Ms. Samil was President and Chief Operating Officer for CLECO Power LLC, after having been its Chief Financial Officer since 2001.

She also has served as Vice President, Finance of FPL Energy (now NextEra Energy Resources), a leader in renewable energy development, and treasurer of FPL Group and Florida Power & Light Company.

Ms. Samil is a graduate of City College of New York, part of the City University of New York, with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.

She received her Master's degree in business administration from the University of Florida.

Jonathan S. Halkyard will join the Company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Halkyard is Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Caesars Entertainment Corporation.

Mr. Halkyard began his career with Caesars in 1999 as Director of Finance for Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.

He spent several years in the company’s operating businesses, becoming Assistant General Manager of Harrah’s and Harvey’s Lake Tahoe in 2001 and Assistant General Manager of Harrah’s Las Vegas in 2002.

Mr. Halkyard was appointed Treasurer of Caesars in 2003 and promoted to CFO in 2006.
