Calgary, AB, Canada – Oando Energy Resources Inc., an oil exploration and production company, announced the appointment of Bill Watson to the OER board of directors and the resignations of Tony Henshaw and Stan Bharti, who resigned from the board.[break]
Mr. Watson is a seasoned oil and gas professional with more than 35 years of progressive
experience. For the past 20 years he has held executive and middle management roles both
internationally and in North America. He most recently served as Husky Energy’s Chief
Operating Officer, S.E. Asia where he was responsible for managing Husky Energy’s S.E. Asia
Business activities.
Prior to this, Mr. Watson held the position of VP Engineering and Projects at Husky Energy where he was the Lead Officer responsible for the strategies and execution plans of all Husky projects worldwide. Mr. Watson has also held senior E & P leadership positions with Marathon Oil, Amerada Hess, Triton Energy and Occidental.
Mr. Henshaw began his career as an exploration geophysicist with Texaco and Exxon before joining BP where he worked in exploration, on development stage projects, in corporate finance and planning, M&A, and ultimately became Deputy General Manager of the Abu Dhabi asset. In 1996 he joined PowerGen North Sea Ltd where he was Technical Director. On the acquisition of PowerGen by Centrica plc in 1998, he became Director of Centrica Resources Ltd. before his appointment as Director of Gas Business Development in 2004.
Mr. Henshaw has been directly involved in the discovery of more than 500 mmboe of reserves of oil and gas, and has broad upstream commercial and technical experience encompassing exploration, development, mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, as well as gas, power and LNG projects. Mr. Henshaw holds a BSc in Geology and Physics from Sheffield University, an MSc in Geophysics from Newcastle University, and an MBA from London Business School.
Prior to his role as Director, Mr. Bharti was the President of Forbes & Manhattan, Inc. and the Chairman of Forbes Energy Group. Mr. Bharti has more than 25 years of business, management and nancial experience.
