Occidental Petroleum names Vicki A. Hollub president, CEO
Ms. Hollub has been an employee of Occidental since 1982, and most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to that, she was Senior Executive Vice President of Occidental and President – Oxy Oil and Gas, Executive Vice President and President – Oxy Oil and Gas, Americas, and Vice President of Occidental and Executive Vice President, U.S. Operations, Oxy Oil and Gas. She was elected to the Board of Directors in December 2015.
Ms. Hollub previously served as Executive Vice President, California Operations; and President and General Manager, Permian Basin operations. She began her career in 1981 with Cities Services, which was acquired a year later by Occidental.
Ms. Hollub succeeds Stephen I. Chazen, who stepped down as CEO following the company’s annual shareholder meeting.
Mr. Chazen will remain as an employee with Occidental as a strategic advisor. He served as President from 2007 to December 2015; Chief Operating Officer from 2010 to 2011; and as Chief Financial Officer from 2007 to 2010.
Prior to being named President and Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Chazen was Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Vice President from 2004 to 2007, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President-Corporate Development from 1999 to 2004, and Executive Vice President-Corporate Development from 1994 to 1999.
Before joining Occidental, Mr. Chazen was a Managing Director in Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions at Merrill Lynch. He is a former Chairman of the American Petroleum Institute and continues to serve on its board, and he is a member of the National Petroleum Council.
Mr. Chazen also serves on the Board of Advisors of Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy and the President's Leadership Council at Houston Methodist Hospital. He is a Director of Ecolab USA Inc., Vice-Chairman of the Aquarium of the Pacific, and Chairman of the Board of the Catalina Island Conservancy. ■
