Pryor, Okla., USA - November 6, 2013, Pryor, Okla., USA - Orchids Paper Products Company announced that Robert A. Snyder, president, CEO and director of Orchids, will be retiring, effective December 31, 2013.

Mr. Snyder has resigned from the Board of Directors of the Company effective November 4, 2013, and he will step down as President and Chief Executive Officer on November 8, 2013. He will continue to serve in an advisory role during a transition period through his retirement on December 31, 2013.
Mr. Snyder was appointed as President and CEO of Orchids Paper Products on August 20, 2007. He most recently served as General Manager of KTG USA, a subsidiary of Kruger, Inc.
Prior to his tenure at KTG USA, Mr. Snyder served in various capcities with Kruger, Inc., Great Northern Paper, Inc., Alliance Forest Products U.S. Corporation and Bear Island Paper Company.
Orchids also announced that Jeffrey S. Schoen has been elected by the Board to succeed Mr. Snyder as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective November 8, 2013.
Mr. Schoen has been a Director of Orchids since 2007 and Chairman of the Board since May 2013. Prior to serving as a Director of Orchids, Mr. Schoen served as Executive Vice President of Cumberland Swan, Inc., a private label manufacturer of personal care products, from 2002 through 2006. From 1999 through 2002, Mr. Schoen was employed by Paragon Trade Brands, a private label manufacturer of disposable diapers and training pants, last serving as Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Schoen holds a BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
Effective November 4, 2013, Mr. Schoen resigned from his role as Chairman of the Board, but he continues to serve as a Director.
Steven R. Berlin succeeds Mr. Schoen as the new Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Berlin has served on Orchids board of directors since December 2005. Since January 2006, Mr. Berlin has been an independent financial consultant. Mr. Berlin was Vice President of Kaiser-Francis Oil Company from 2004 to January 2006, and the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Kaiser-Francis Oil Company from 1999 to 2004.
He held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer of PetroCorp Corporation from 1999 to 2004 and was a director of PetroCorp Corporation from 2001 to 2004. Mr. Berlin was on the faculty of the University of Tulsa, where he taught business and finance courses from 1996 to 1999.
Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Tulsa, Mr. Berlin worked for CITGO Petroleum Corporation and its predecessors in various financial and management positions, including the last ten years as Chief Financial Officer. ■
