Sydney, Australia - July 7, 2014, Sydney, Australia - Pacific Brands, a clothing, footwear and home textiles company, announced that John Pollaers has stepped down from the role of managing director and chief executive officer.

Mr. Pollaers has been the Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Brands Limited. Mr. Pollaers served as the Chief Executive Officer of Foster's Group Ltd., from May 2011 to December 16, 2011. He served as the Managing Director of Carlton and United Breweries of Foster's Australia Ltd. and Foster's Group Limited from April 7, 2010 to May 2011. He served as the President of Asia-Pacific Operations for DIAGEO India Pvt Ltd. since March 2009.
Mr. Pollaers served as the President of Asia Pacific at Diageo plc from February 1, 2007 to July 1, 2009. He served as Head of Operations in Asia for Diageo Plc since January 2006. He served as Managing Director Australasia of Diageo plc; Managing Director for Asia Key markets of Diageo plc and Engineering Officer of Royal Australian Navy. He started his career with Diageo as a Business Development Manager in 1990.
Earlier in his career he was an officer of the Royal Australian Navy from 1981 to 1989. He served as Chairman of Distilled Spirits Industry Council of Australia. Mr. Pollaers serves as a Trustee of National Breast Cancer Foundation (Australia). He serves as an Executive Director of Pacific Brands Limited. He serves as a Board Member at DrinkWise Australia Ltd. He served as Executive Director of Foster's Group Ltd. from May 9, 2011 to December 16, 2011.
Mr. Pollaers was a member of the Diageo Global Executive Committee. He holds an MBA from Macquarie University and INSEAD, France, and has received Bachelors of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of New South Wales.
Peter Bush, The Chairman of Pacific Brands, will assume the role of Executive Chairman pending appointment of a replacement for Mr. Pollaers.
Mr. Bush joined the board in August 2010 and assumed the role of Chairman at the end of June 2012. Peter had a long and successful career in fast moving consumer goods, holding senior roles with SC Johnson, Reckitt & Colman, Ampol/Caltex and Arnotts and was CEO of AGB McNair and Schwarzkopf. ■
