Calgary, AB, Canada - January 25, 2013, Calgary, AB, Canada - Petrominerales, an oil and gas company, announces the departure of COO Jack Scott and the appointment of John Koch as the new chief operating officer of Petrominerales.

Mr. Scott served as an Executive Vice President and Colombian Country Manager of Petrominerales Ltd. since joining in May 2007. Mr. Scott has a wealth of engineering and management experience. He has 23 years of international and domestic experience, including 7 years in Cuba where he opened and managed offices for two oil companies.
He served as Vice President for Engineering of Eurogas Corp., since May 2006. From 1992 to 1999, he held various positions with companies operating in Cuba including three years as Premier Oil's incountry representative managing the office and operations in Cuba. He began his engineering career with Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Ltd. and later Westcoast Petroleum Ltd. (a total of ten years) moving to progressively senior engineering positions.
Mr. Scott graduated from McGill University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
Prior to joining Petrominerales, Mr. Koch held increasingly senior technical and operational roles at various large and mid-sized energy companies operating in Canada and internationally. Most recently, he has been involved as the founder and CEO of an efficiency technology company, while concurrently executing his role as COO of an oil shale start-up company.
From 2002 to 2007, Mr. Koch was the Vice President Operations and Chief Operating Officer of Trident Exploration Corp. where he managed considerable capital budgets and programs, achieving best in class operating costs and capital efficiencies. Mr. Koch was the Vice President International Operations of Pacalta Resources Ltd. from 1996 to 1999, where he worked alongside many of the current members of Petrominerales' executive team, including Jaime Valenzuela.
In addition, the company announces the promotion of Jaime Valenzuela to Vice President and Country Manager, Colombia.
Mr. Valenzuela was appointed Vice President Project Management Planning and Director of Operations of Petrominerales in June 2011, and prior thereto was Petrominerales Director, Project Management and Planning since June 2010. Prior to joining Petrominerales, Mr. Valenzuela was Trident Exploration Corp.'s Director, Project Management Office, for five years, and was the Production Supervisor at Pacalta Resources Ltd. from 1997 to 1999. ■
