Stuttgart, Germany - September 30, 2015, Stuttgart, Germany - Porsche AG announced that is has appointed Detlev von Platen head of sales and marketing and Oliver Blume as new chairman of the executive board.

Since the beginning of 2013, Mr. Blume has been a member of the Porsche Executive Board responsible for Production and Logistics.
Mr. Blume began his career as a trainee at Audi in Ingolstadt. He conducted the planning paintshop, the body of the A3, was assistant to the production board and subsequently assumed management of the plant.
Mr. Blume led Seat in Barcelona, and after that took over the worldwide production planning of the Volkswagen brand in Wolfsburg. He has a doctorate in mechanical engineering
Another new appointee is Detlev von Platen who will be a member of the Porsche Executive Board for Sales and Marketing.
Mr. Von Platen comes to Zuffenhausen from the USA where he was Head of Porsche Cars North America for just over seven years. The new Head of Sales will assume his new post on November 1, 2015.
Following studies in Economics at the University of Tours in France – and further studies in Business Management, Mr. Von Platen joined BMW France in 1988 as Marketing Manager of the motorcycle division. In 1991, he joined BMW AG, the parent company, where he held several sales and marketing positions within BMW AG's BMW Motorrad, BMW Motorsport, and Central Marketing divisions.
In 1997, Mr. Von Platen joined Porsche AG and then assumed the management of the Porsche brand in France, which at the time of his assignment was Sonauto, an independent importer.
In 1999, Mr. Von Platen established and then oversaw the PAG subsidiary, Porsche France as President and CEO. Before leaving Porsche France for his current position, he helped lead the French subsidiary. He assumed his position at Porsche Cars North America on April 1, 2008 as its President and CEO.
On the same date, Mr. Von Platen's predecessor Bernhard Maier will be reassigned from Zuffenhausen to Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Republic where he will assume the position of Chairman of the Board of Management of Škoda.
Mr. Maier was appointed to the Board of Management in 2010 and assumes the top position in the Sales and Marketing Division. He was previously Chairman of the Management of Porsche Deutschland GmbH, Bietigheim-Bissingen.
Mr. Maier completed his training as a car mechanic and then, after obtaining his full qualification as a master mechanic, studying business management in the town of Calw near Stuttgart. ■
