Reston, Va., USA — QinetiQ North America (QNA), a defence technology and security company, announced the appointment of Mark Hewitt as executive vice president and chief strategy officer.[break]
Dr. Hewitt joined QNA in January 2010 as senior vice president for strategy in the QNA Technology Solutions Group. He then led the Maritime and Transportation division and served as executive vice president for operations and strategic development.
Prior to joining QNA, Dr. Hewitt led defense and intelligence programs at the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Prior to this he was a visiting scholar at George Washington University’s Center for International Science and Technology Policy.
His government service includes leadership in the Defense Department where he served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for continuity and crisis management and at the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he led an interagency cyber intelligence unit.
